"Never Worked a Day in Her Life"

Oh, puh-lease. Anyone who says a mother "doesn't work a day in her life" is just an idiot. And now Obama says that Michelle "didn't have the luxury to stay at home." Give me a break. Michelle Obama never wanted to stay at home with her girls. She was a career woman. And, no, it doesn't take "luxury" for a mom to stay at home. My husband was making $30,000 a year when I decided to stay at home with my still in-the-womb baby. We certainly didn't have luxury by any stretch. It was a decision my husband and I made, based on what was best for our child. The luxury I did have was to watch my children grow up to be  young men with values of right and wrong, of taking responsibility, of doing what is right because I, their mother, and my husband, their father, raised them, not someone else. There are some women who do not have the choice to stay at home (for various reasons). And some choose not to stay at home, when they could. But give Ann Romney a break. She worked hard every day as a mother. Very hard. Through cancer and multiple sclerosis. She deserves a medal, not criticism. She is an American hero.
